My journey with Creating the Conditions for Change has been long and varied. I have always shared my approach widely and in 2019 I released a comprehensive kit (booklet, infographic and action cards) to support my workshops. A number of organisations and groups have been explicitly using this kit and for others, I have been guiding them with it more implicitly.
My work is centred on a creative interpretation of Stafford Beer’s viable system model and how we make it more focussed on what humans do and need in their work. Can it be used for systems change in a social arena – yes, it can. This is the arena I have been working in a lot recently.
Here is a collation of my insights from my approach, specifically linked to my work with my Creating the Conditions for Change approach over the last 2 years. It comes from my interactions with eleven different clients over fourteen different geographical areas, including one national piece of work.
