The journey with Creating the Conditions for Change© has been long and varied. A number of organisations and place based systems change groups have been explicitly using the approach and other organisations and groups have been guided by me, using the materials more implicitly.
Creating the Conditions for Change© is centred on a creative interpretation of Stafford Beer’s Viable System Model and how we make it more focussed on what humans do and need in their work. It takes the Viable System Model from being about management to leadership and system leadership. Can it be used for systems change in a social arena? Yes, it can. This is the arena I have been working in a lot recently. Here is a collation of my insights from using the Creating the Conditions for Change© approach to date.
